Welcome

The Australian Acoustical Society, South Australian Division is based at the School of Mechanical Engineering at University of Adelaide. The undergraduate degree course in Mechanical Engineering is one of the few courses in the country which offers Acoustics as a final year option. This has led to the education of a large number of people within the state with specialised acoustic skills.

For more information about the activities of the society and how to join it, follow the links in the menu on the left.

3 Jun 2008 - 20:30

The technical presentation will be hosted by Phil Agnew of DTEI and Tom Evans of Bassett Acoustics.

Construction works are currently underway on the South Road Anzac Highway underpass project. This major project was the first to use the updated 2007 Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI) Road Traffic Noise Guidelines methodology.

Detailed assessments have been undertaken for environmental noise due to traffic before and after the proposed construction of the underpass.
