Depart from Uni: 29th September at 4:30 am

Arrive back at Uni: 1st October

Once again we will travel to Woomera over the October long weekend to watch the Australian Space Research Institute (ASRI) rocket launches. ASRI will be conducting a total of ten launches on the Saturday and Sunday, the largest amount ever attempted at Woomera.

The trip will include:
-Watching the launches
-A guided tour of the ASRI launch facilities immediately after the launches
-A guided tour of AR1, the current launch facilities used by defence and JAXA, including the control room, roof and launch pad
-The Woomera Observatory (weather permitting)
-The Woomera Heritage Centre
-Gamma Ray Telescopes, designed by the Physics department at The University of Adelaide

-Nurrungar (the previously highly classified American base)

Students will be accomodated in ensuite rooms at the ELDO hotel (nice and close to the bar)

The cost of the trip will be approximately $100, which includes continental breakfasts on the Sunday and Monday mornings and lunch on Sunday. The final cost depends on the number of participants.

Only 20 places are available so get in quick. To register your interest or for any further enquiries please email stewart.jones@student.adelaide.edu.au

If you can volunteer your car it would be greatly appreciated.
