Project Title: Thermoacoustics

Luke Zoontjens, Carl Howard, Ben Cazzolato, Anthony Zander, Tom Bammann

Current air-conditioning systems used by refrigerated trucks and automobiles use compressors which add load to the engine, and refrigerants which adversely affect the environment. Thermoacoustic refrigeration systems have the potential to provide adequate cooling performance without sacrificing engine power or using such refrigerants. And since thermoacoustic refrigerator systems also contain no lubricants or moving parts, they are also comparably inexpensive to build and maintain.
