Australian and New Zealand Section of the Combustion Institute

The Combustion Institute is a non-profit, international, scientific society whose purpose is to promote and disseminate research in combustion science. Major activities of The Combustion Institute include the organization of biennial International Symposia on Combustion and dissemination of combustion research through its official journal, Combustion and Flame.

Diverse Membership

The Combustion Institute is open to anyone who is interested in research into combustion phenomena. For example, we have members who are physical chemists, fuel technologists, fluid dynamicists, combustion engine designers, fire scientists, environmental scientists, mechanical and aerospace engineers, detonation specialists, and fire fighters.

Benefits

Institute members receive substantial discounts on all the functions and publications of the Institute. For example, our members can get a one year subscription to Combustion and Flame for US$63.00. Normally an institutional subscription to this journal costs over US$1200 per year.

Additionally, members of the ANZ section receive a complimentary copy of the proceedings of the Australian Combustion Symposium.

International Community

There are 25 countries involved in The Combustion Institute, with local sections organising regular meetings for the dissemination of research. All members and the general public are invited to participate in each of these technical meetings.
