Travel Grants and AwardsThe local section supports members attendance at local and international meetings of the Institute through the award of travel grants. Members qualify for support to contribute towards the cost of travel to local Symposia. Attendance at the International Symposium for local members is also supported by the ANZ section. This is particularly valuable for student members of the section who would otherwise have difficulty in finding the funds to attend the International Symposia. Applications are based on merit and need, and are normally considered on a case-by-case basis. Award of a travel grant usually obligates the recipient to provide a report on the conference to the Biennial General Meeting (BGM) of the local section. Calls for members to apply for travel grants usually precede the Symposium registration dates. Australian Combustion Symposium Travel GrantsTravel grants are available to student members who are presenting an oral paper at the Australian Combustion Symposium, provided that they reside at least 200km from the conference venue and their supervisor is registered for the meeting. Travel grants range up to AUD$200.Asia Pacific Conference on Combustion (ASPACC) Travel GrantsTravel grants are available for members who are presenting an oral paper at the ASPACC, provided that it is at an overseas location.
