Safety

The School of Mechanical Engineering has a strong commitment to workplace health and safety. 1996 saw the introduction into the School of new Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Our School Safety Officer is Joel Walker , our Deputy School Safety Officer is Mr. Richard Pateman. Our OHS represenative is Vicky Samra
Regular workplace inspections are carried out, and problems which are noted were will be considered at School Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings and appropriate action taken.

Postgraduate students who are new to the School are given an occupational health and safety briefing as part of their induction course and notes are included in the laboratory notes for all undergraduate students.
